The G5-02 represents the first automatic welding helmet with a curved ADF darkening filter, providing up to 100% wider peripheral visibility compared to standard models. This innovation ensures a clearer view of the work area and maximum control during welding, especially for demanding tasks like TIG welding.

The helmet is designed for harsh working conditions and various types of welding – MMAW, MIG/MAG, TIG, and plasma welding and cutting. It performs best in low amperage TIG welding, where high-precision sensors detect an arc as low as 1A, providing automatic darkening in just 0.1 milliseconds.

Comfort and Functionality

The G5-02 weighs only 535 grams with an exceptionally balanced weight distribution, reducing strain on the head and neck. The ergonomic design allows for helmet size adjustment to suit each user’s needs.

Its compatibility with additional protective equipment, such as FFP respirators, safety glasses, and earplugs, makes this helmet an ideal choice for working in demanding conditions. Additional options include magnifying lenses (150% - 250%) and head and neck covers that provide extra protection from heat and sparks.

Advanced Technology for Safety and Comfort

With Natural Color technology, the G5-02 offers a display of natural color tones, making work less straining on the eyes. The ADF filter protects against UV and IR radiation in all modes, and even if the battery is depleted, the eyes remain protected with the equivalent of DIN 12 dark glass.

The helmet features an adjustable DELAY function, which controls the delay in transitioning from dark to light mode. This is particularly useful for stainless steel welding, where the weld stays hot for a longer time, or for spot welding, where an immediate return to light mode is necessary for preparing the next weld.

Connectivity and Control

By pairing with the 3M CONNECTED EQUIPMENT app via Bluetooth, all helmet parameters can be adjusted directly through your phone. The app allows you to store up to 10 different welding modes, track usage history, adjust sensor sensitivity, dark mode, and the DELAY function. This makes switching between different types of welding, such as MIG and TIG, simple and quick – without removing the helmet or gloves.
