Fashion and personal protective equipment
The Day of the Museum of Applied Arts - November 06, was marked by fashion, and on that occasion the exhibition "Fashion in Modern Serbia", curated by Draginja Maskareli, was opened. Our company is pleased to accept the invitation to be a friend of this exhibition and to help in its realization, since personal protective equipment and fashion are very connected. This exhibition presents 81 fashion items from the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, which are kept in the Museum's Collection of Textiles and Costumes. All this is accompanied by reproductions of civic portraits and documentary material from various public and private collections. Albo is a leader in personal protective equipment, and protective equipment has changed over time as well as fashion. At one time, its sole purpose was to provide protection to the wearer, as in the beginning the clothes was only meant to provide protection against the weather. Today, protective equipment is in many ways similar to fashion clothing, and the user is provided with comfort and modern design. In this way, Albo and personal protective equipment are further evidence of the importance of fashion in building an individual's identity. The exhibition "Fashion in Modern Serbia" will be open until January 31, 2020, and all interested are welcome to the Museum of Applied Arts, where they can see the transience and durability of fashion trends over the past two centuries.
